I am an NRI, translated into: no-real Indian.  I follow Indian cinema in my quest to find only one million original films before humanity as we know it disappears.  I will use the term Indian cinema sparingly because I only have access to Hindi films, not Malayalam, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Nepali, Khasi, Dogri, Garo and other languages.

Amitabh Bachchan sits pondering somewhere, on a plane or at home.  “How can I celebrate my 2,000 blog?”  I have a crazy idea.   How about sifting through all the posts and get a publisher to publish them as item books?  Hindi cinema has item boys and girls, why not item books?

1.       From press to media
That would be one item book.  Make that three books, because of his love hate relationship with the media.
2.       Film production from  1950-2010
He has enough posts for this item book because he sometimes blogs about how things were done during and post-Sholay.  He is very receptive to technological advances in both audio and other aspects of shooting and post-production.   Film students will find this useful.
3.       The small box and us
That would be television.   There is enough material for an item book based on his television experience such as KBC.
4.       Cine-families
He writes comprehensive blogs about families such as the Kapoors.  Do you think he should include his own?
5.       Sports India
This will cover cricket, football and all the other sports he writes about.

Comfort Food As Regret Food

Chicken curry. Comfort food is good for the soul, which usually bleeds in winter from icy roads, bad drivers that want to annihilate pedestrians, frozen fingers and toes that take a sabbatical.   What happened to my toes?   I thought I was wearing special socks for boots? The internet and mama have something in common: manners.   They believe that always say Hi! To people you meet. Home is where the heart is, but it is rough being at home these digital days.   People are so tied up in chat rooms, Instagram, Twitter, FB, YouTube or Google mania, they don’t have a minute to say hi or good night to people they share a toilet or kitchen with. Thank god for internet players.   They say hi to me when I re-open a document after a thirty minutes’ break.   It’s all automated, but it is nice when the computer calls me by my name and encourages me to continue, where I left off.
